Antimicrobial catheter lock solution
TauroLock™-HEP100 prevents the formation of a bacterial biofilm, protecting patients against catheter-related infections and ensuring a high patency rate.
TauroLock-HEP100 is recommended for CVCs in oncology and parenteral nutrition.
TauroLock™-Hep100 contains three active ingredients:
- Taurolidine
- Citrate (4 %)
- Heparin (100 units per ml)
Taurolidine has broad antimicrobial activity (including MRSA and VRE) against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi (e.g., Candida).
Heparin and citrate both help prevent occlusions within the catheter.
